Every time I visit South Africa I make a point of dining at least once at Vini's. The food is excellent, and very reasonably priced, the service is attentive, but not overwhelming, and the atmosphere is pleasant and welcoming. I have never had anything but a great experience.

Great food, the only place I eat ribs and the blue cheese, bacon & pear pizza is fantastic. Special kudos for the Scottish burger in the specials. As a proud Scot I really enjoyed.

Every time I visit Johannesburg for business or pleasure there is only ONE restaurant o go to and that is this amazing restaurant called Vinis in Bedfordview. The food, the service, the vibe and the amazing professional staff is just next level, hard to find this anywhere in SA. Next time you visit the City of Gold, make sure you put this restaurant on your bucket list, you won't be sorry. Some restaurants feed you. Others become part of your family. Vini’s is the latter. I’ve been going to Vini’s for 27 years, and it has become so much more than a restaurant to us. It’s part of our family history. From celebrating my grandparents’ 60th birthdays when I was just 10 years old, to celebrating my own daughter’s baptism there, Vini’s has been the backdrop to some of our most treasured memories. And that, to me, is something truly special. In a world where so many restaurants have become beige, generic, franchise-style experiences, Vini’s is a breath of fresh air. It’s authentic, welcoming, full of character, and has that unmistakable old-school family restaurant charm that you just don’t find anymore. And the food? Absolutely incredible. From their iconic Apollo pizza to a melt-in-your-mouth steak with creamy mash, it’s the kind of food that you genuinely crave. There are very few restaurants where I find myself thinking, “I could really go for that,” and Vini’s is always at the top of that list. Consistently delicious, comforting, and made with the kind of familiarity that keeps you coming back for decades. But what makes Vini’s truly special is that it has stood the test of time. It’s not just somewhere you go to eat; it’s somewhere you celebrate, gather, reminisce, and make new memories while holding on to old ones. If I feel like eating out, Vini’s is my number one choice. Not because it’s trendy or trying to be the next big thing, but because it knows exactly what it is, and has been doing it brilliantly for decades. 27 years of memories, countless incredible meals, and now another generation of our family making memories there. The food was good but the best was the lady providing the live entertainment. She was magnificent and it's worth going there just to listen to her. The restaurant inside was full and all the patrons seemed to be having a good time. Lot's of laughter and chatter. The perfect company you want.
